For swimmers aged 7-10 at 27 August 2016, who would like to compete in the next SMNE Area Championships, even if they have done so already.
The SMNE Junior Establishment Squad is just a few weeks away (Sunday 27 August. 0900 to 1300). This email is just some details for you and your swimmer in the lead up to the day.
The squad starts at 0900, so please be there between 0835 and 0850 so we can sign your swimmer in. To start the day, there will also be an information session for parents from 0915. We will also have Ami Matsuo to assist with coaches on the day and talk to our swimmers.
You’re free to stay and watch from the stands during the day, or you can leave and come back to cheer for the swimmers in races which will start at around 1200 (TBC).
Your assistance running the races (from 1200 onwards) may be called upon. There are races ranging in length from 25m to 100m, but we’ll match races to your swimmers ability on the day.
Pick-up is at 1300. We know some of you need to collect your child sooner owing to other commitments. That is of course ok.
What to bring
Swimmers should wear their togs under warm-up clothes with shoes on.
They’ll also need:
- 2 towels
- Lunch (normal school lunch is great, and remember, no nuts and no sharing between kids)
- A change of clothes (in case they get wet)
- Flippers (fins) if they have them. Don’t worry if you don’t
Swimmers are encouraged to bring healthy food and drink as per a normal meet (i.e. a healthy school lunch).
$30. Each swimmer will also receive a swim cap.
The squad is at the amazing new Pymble Ladies College Pool. I’ve attached a map of where to go.
Applications for the Junior Establishment Squad are now open.
