About Us
Swimming Metro North East is the local arm of Swimming NSW and Swimming Australia. The Area formed in 2010 as a merger between Northern Suburbs and Warringah Amateur Swimming Association.
Our mission is to promote and deliver competitions, development and support activities for swimmers, coaches and officials in the Swimming Metro North East Area.
Our not-for-profit organisation operates in the Metropolitan North East Area of Sydney and consists of around 17 clubs. Our Clubs consist of over 1,500 competitive swimmers, 500 dry members and 92 Life Members. We are entirely volunteer run and organise swimming meets and development programs, train officials, support coach development, coordinate activities, and invest annually in swimming in the local area.
Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Country we meet on. We recognise their continuing connection to the land and waters, and thank them for protecting this coastline and its ecosystems since time immemorial. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all First Nations people present today.

SMNE Strategic Plan
SMNE is dedicated to supporting our swimmers, coaches and volunteers. Together, we celebrate the wide range of benefits that swimming brings to our community. We are a place where our members can connect with like-minded people, pursue their goals and advance their professional careers. We provide a platform for swimmers to enjoy and further their swimming throughout the winter and summer seasons.
Our aim is to continue implementing creative initiatives towards helping achieve our goal.
The SMNE board combines an excellent mix of experience and professional backgrounds bringing energy and ideas that results in an amazing ability to make a real difference. We thank our member Clubs for their insightful feedback.
The board is excited to share the strategic plan that will guide us over the next 3 years. We look forward to progressing SMNE through new initiatives and the exciting opportunities that are ahead of us.
