The health and wellbeing of our swimmers, volunteers, officials, coaches and spectators will always be paramount.  We ask for your support in our efforts to prevent the spread of disease and be vigilant in your personal hygiene, social distancing and avoid attending our activities if unwell.

Squads in 2023/24

SMNE is dedicated to recognising and rewarding dedicated swimmers in our Area and therefore heavily subsidizes Development activities.  Our Development Squad activities allow swimmers with a range of abilities from within our Area the chance to further their skills and knowledge of swimming, whilst making new friends and receiving advice from a variety of coaches and professionals in their field.

MNE Swimmers and Coaches should self assess the correct squad for each swimmer according to the selection criteria.

Numbers for each squad are strictly limited and applications will automatically close when full.

SMNE has different squads based on age and ability.   All Swimmers must hold current financial Primary Club membership with a Metro North East Club.  Swimmers who don’t meet this criteria will be removed without a refund.

Dress up and get into the Olympic spirit. Come as a country, Olympic related.  Enter via Swim Central	There are no QTs required but break times will be utilised meaning swimmers must be slower than State SC Junior QTs. Maximum 4 entries per swimmer. Only Primary members from SMNE Clubs

26 Oct 2024 12:00pm-2:00pm	13-15 Years $35	Aim: Focus on long course race skills and the application of technology in swimming.  Limit: 50 swimmers  Enter via Swim Central	Age Juniors – Lane Cove Aquatic Centre Ages 13-14 Years Full Swimmer members of an SMNE Club
26 Oct 2024 2:00pm-4:00pm	16 Years & over $35	Aim: Focus on long course race skills and the application of technology in swimming.  Limit: 50 swimmers  Enter via Swim Central	Age Seniors – Lane Cove Aquatic Centre Ages 16/Over Years Full Swimmer members of an SMNE Club. Understanding how to use technology to support training and reinforce skill can be of great benefit to athletes.  Visual and quantitative data leaves nothing to chance and gives real-time feedback to the athlete and coach regarding performance efforts.  Athletes will have the chance to work with Bio mechanic Gio Postiglione and experience the latest in swim technology EO SwimBetter.

Applications, payment and closing dates – Via Swim Central

All development squad applications and payments must be made online at least 24 hours before each closing date. Each Development Clinic squad has a limit of 50 swimmers and will automatically close when squads are full.

The final date for applications will be when the squads are full, which may be at any time. Do not leave your nomination until the last minute!

We regret that there is no refund for cancellations.

What will happen next?

Your swimmer’s application is subject to the eligibility criteria, minimum numbers being met for each event and an available spot. If your swimmer meets the criteria, your payment was successfully received and the squad is appropriately chosen, they will be accepted.  If squads become full, the online registration page will clearly indicate that the squad is full and will not allow further applications.

If an application is accepted, you will be contacted with details of the upcoming events for your Squad closer to the date of the events. If your application is rejected due to ineligibility you will be contacted via email and removed.
