DEVELOPMENT SQUADS IN THE MNE AREA

SMNE is committed to recognising and supporting dedicated swimmers within our Area. As part of that commitment, we heavily subsidise Development Squad activities to provide valuable opportunities for skill-building, learning, and connection.

Our Development Squad programs cater to swimmers of varying abilities and offer a chance to:

• Build friendships with peers from across the Area
• Enhance swimming skills and technical knowledge
• Receive guidance from a range of experienced coaches and industry professionals

🏊 Squad Selection
Swimmers and coaches are encouraged to self-assess and nominate for the most suitable squad based on the published selection criteria.

Our Development Programs offer a wide range of opportunities, including:

• Targeted skills development sessions
• Development meets
• Touring teams for competitive experience
• Inter-Metro competitions to foster local camaraderie and challenges

These activities are designed to support swimmers at various stages in their journey, helping them grow both in and out of the pool.

📌 Important Notes:

• Spaces are strictly limited – applications will automatically close once a squad is full.
• All swimmers must hold a current, financial Primary Club membership with a Metro North East (MNE) club. Swimmers who do not meet this requirement will be removed without a refund.

In addition to supporting swimmers of all levels and abilities, we are also committed to supporting coaches across our Area by providing funding, educational opportunities, and professional development.
