ATHLETE SELECTION PROCESS FOR FINALS:

Athletes for the Speedo Sprint Finals are selected from the SMNE 13U Sprint Meet held on 8th February. Selection applies only to the 50m events.

The swimmers selected to represent SMNE at the Finals will be contacted by email following our meet.  The four fastest swimmers in each 50m event will be invited to represent SMNE at the Speedo Sprint Finals provided they are not National qualifiers and are available. Should any of those swimmers be unable to attend or be deemed ineligible, invitations will then be extended to the next fastest eligible swimmers.

GATES OPEN: 7:30am (not before) – Spectators need to purchase tickets (see below)
– Session 1: 9:00-12:15pm – 50 Breaststroke, 50 Freestyle, Freestyle Relays
– Lunch 30 minutes
– Session 2: 12:45-4:20pm – Medley Relays, 50 Butterfly, 50 Backstroke

Athletes  must check in with the Team Manager who will be sitting in the designated Metro North East Area (see map below).  All athletes (+/- parents) should sit with the Team in the black chairs on the western(far side) of the pool.  It is recommended that all athletes arrive at least 90 minutes prior to their first race (remember to check in with Team Manager (dressed in blue Tee on arrival).

UNIFORM

All swimmers are representing Metro North East at this meet and are required to wear the blue SMNE Tshirt and cap.  If you do not have a SMNE Tee-shirt and/or Cap, please click here to Pre-Order: https://form.jotform.com/260412793374863 (sizes cannot be guaranteed).  NOTE:  we only have a limited supply of these tees and cannot guarantee we will have your size.

NEED TO WITHDRAW?

Please notify the meet organisers as soon as possible if your swimmer is unable or will not be competing in any scheduled race. This is essential to the smooth and fair running of the meet.

Providing scratches is not only a common courtesy, much like responding to an RSVP, but it also helps ensure that no swimmer is required to compete in a heat on their own. When we receive advance notice, we can reorganise heats efficiently and create the best possible racing experience for all swimmers.

Your cooperation makes a real difference, so please remember to scratch promptly if your swimmer is not racing. Thank you for your support and understanding.
